Viella Vacances

Chambres d'hôtes de Charme, 32400 Viella

A home from home

Viella Vacances is situated just over 5 minutes’ walk from the heart of the village of Viella. Close enough to the village centre to profit from all the facilities the village has to offer but is sheltered from the noise coming from the festivities in the village.

We have transformed a traditional gascon home into a cosy B&B with 3 letting rooms. In the summer why not take a dip in our pool, or, if it’s too hot, take a book from the library to read on the shady terrace. Centrally heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer you will be comfortable whatever the weather.

Bedrooms and Facilities

We have three Ensuite rooms; two double and one twin. All are ensuite with rain showers and WC. All have individually controlled heating/ air conditioning.

Things to see and do

On the border of the Gers, the Hautes Pyrenees and the Pyrenees Atlantic, you will find the pretty village of Viella. At a height of 600m above sea level, whether arriving from Aire sur l’Adour, Riscle or Madiran you will find yourself marvelling at the magical views as you mount towards the village. Be it the plains of the Pyrenees Atlantique and the Pyrenees mountains to the south or the rolling hills of the Gers to the north and east, they never cease to amaze. The village is well served with an épicerie, a bar/bistro and not one, but two hairdressers. Leisure facilities include an open air pool (July & August) and tennis court.

We are 30 minutes away from Marciac and it’s famous Jazz festival and just 20minutes from Nogaro, where the race circuit holds events throughout the spring and summer.

Further afield, Pau and Tarbes both around a hours’ drive and you can drive to Spain or be on the ski slopes in less than two.

Up close and personal

Caroline is British and has been in France for over 16 years now. Arriving on her own with her two dogs and a couple of suitcases, she wasn’t entirely sure what she was doing, but it seemed like a good idea at the time!! 16 years later she is still here and loving it!

Jean Pierre is a true Gascon. Born and brought up locally, his family come from Riscle, just 8Km from Viella. Artisan by trade, he’s not usually around during the day, but he often dines with guests in the evening, entertaining us with stories of the region and some of the local characters!!
